ISAAC TURLEY HISTORY by Marc Haws (presented at the July 5th 2010 Reunion)

This is a story about a man and his wife, and their son, and their house.  It is also about his country and his religion.  More specifically, it’s the story about Isaac Turley, son of Theodore Turley and Francis Amelia Kimberley.  It’s about the house he built for his second wife, Clara Ann Tolton in Colonia Juarez, Chihuahua, Mexico, and his life spent seeking religious freedom as a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, and colonizing in both the United States or Mexico.  Much of what I will tell you about is information that was related by his youngest surviving son: Isaac Turley Jr., my grandfather.

The Theodore Turley Family Reunion on July 5th was a great success.  388 individuals signed in, traveling from Washington, Mexico, Texas, California and beyond.  The full details from each of the speakers will be published in the next Turley Family Newsletter, and posted online here within 1-2 months.

Richard Turley, Jr. was the keynote speaker and shared surviving evidence and documents from Theodore Turley's life.

The food for the dinner was catered by Surefire Pizza (www.surefirepizza.com), owned by Melissa Whitehead, a descendant of Theodore Turley.

We appreciated everyone's contributions and attendance. Thanks to everyone who helped prepare and execute the plans and program.  We are lucky to have so many talented individuals in our family.  And we look forward to the next time we can all get together.

Thanks, Hilary Borrowman
