Urgent Call for Pictures – Message from David Turley

!!!!!     Update Emergency     !!!!!

While completing the tasks necessary before creating the disks containing the updated Theodore Turley descendancy, a very disturbing discovery was made. Numerous pictures and multimedia items had been referenced in files sent to be included in the Master Database, but these items were somehow NOT actually included in the submission.

The result? Pictures were not received that should have been included with the submitted files. All that remains is a label of the picture in the database sent – but no picture. This discovery is VERY disturbing. It has caused a few sleepless nights and brought me to the brink of tears.

How to solve the problem or at least attempt to?

A.    If you submitted a computer-generated pedigree file that referenced pictures, please resend just the pictures with adequate labels so they can be matched-up with the proper individual.  Send them by email to davidturley@byu.net, before 9 November 2011 in .jpeg or .tif format.

B.    If you have not sent in pictures of your family or ancestors, or you are not sure if you did, but you would like to have photos included in this DVD publication, send them by email to davidturley@byu.net, before November 9, 2011 in .jpeg or .tif format.

C.   If you originally submitted pictures, either actual photos or digital copies, you do not need to re-send those pictures. They are now safely in the Master Database attached to the appropriate individual.

I sincerely apologize for this late discovery. This discovery will undoubtedly have an impact on the contents of the disk we are striving to have available for Christmas.

I encourage all those affected to respond no later than November 9, 2011. Please don’t wait until the last minute to respond, send as soon as possible.

Thank you in advance.

David Turley

ISAAC TURLEY HISTORY by Marc Haws (presented at the July 5th 2010 Reunion)

This is a story about a man and his wife, and their son, and their house.  It is also about his country and his religion.  More specifically, it’s the story about Isaac Turley, son of Theodore Turley and Francis Amelia Kimberley.  It’s about the house he built for his second wife, Clara Ann Tolton in Colonia Juarez, Chihuahua, Mexico, and his life spent seeking religious freedom as a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, and colonizing in both the United States or Mexico.  Much of what I will tell you about is information that was related by his youngest surviving son: Isaac Turley Jr., my grandfather.

The Theodore Turley Family Reunion on July 5th was a great success.  388 individuals signed in, traveling from Washington, Mexico, Texas, California and beyond.  The full details from each of the speakers will be published in the next Turley Family Newsletter, and posted online here within 1-2 months.

Richard Turley, Jr. was the keynote speaker and shared surviving evidence and documents from Theodore Turley's life.

The food for the dinner was catered by Surefire Pizza (www.surefirepizza.com), owned by Melissa Whitehead, a descendant of Theodore Turley.

We appreciated everyone's contributions and attendance. Thanks to everyone who helped prepare and execute the plans and program.  We are lucky to have so many talented individuals in our family.  And we look forward to the next time we can all get together.

Thanks, Hilary Borrowman
